Strong back

This is the half muscle-half skeleton
sculpture from Ecorche.
Yesterday I finished my  first semester at Academy of the Arts University. I was blind but now I see. I created incredible art, and for the first time sculpted a torso that I believed in. She was strong- and sturdy and had a glorious back.

(laughing)
You might have noticed I write and talk about strong backs. I associate strong backs with power, courage and strength.
The was you carry yourself with head erect, shoulders back and a straight elongates back says VOLUMES about your attitude.

You have seen people with caved in chest, they walk with their chin hung down. They look lost, miserable and sad. Be aware of your posture. Pull those shoulders back and be proud of who you are.
(Smiling sigh)
The spine is an intricate amazing glorious creation.  It is a puzzle that fits magnificently into itself. I am forever in awe of the disc and the form fitting perfection. A delicate puzzle for sure.

My “vision” has changed in the last four months. I thought I had pretty good eyesight, however, I was wrong. After handling the clay, the bones and the muscles, after spending tons of hours with dental tools to create the perfect spine and body. I now “see” and know the form from touching every bone and muscle. I know where there is a dimple and where there are pelvic curves. I stand brushing my teeth in the morning and see the planes of my face. I am ready now to start learning who I am- I am ready to draw and sculpt my face.
(slow sigh)
It used to scare me. Heck! Lots of things used to scare me.
(laughing)

Now, I sigh. I am content. I took the hardest class first. And all my friends, Joel, Rory, Nina, and Aaron ay they wish they had taken this first, as it has helped tremendously in all their other classes! Now I trust that all the pieces of the puzzle are falling into glorious place. I stand up straight and tall and grin!!! I am becoming me!! Woohooooo!!! Then I do a little wild Steve Martin dance around the room!! (Grinning for ear -to-ear)

Thank you wonderful Professors!!! I can not thank you enough for your wisdom!!

Let the season begin!! Woohoooo!!! I am singing and dancing to Portland!! Life is grand!!

Angels

Yesterday I went to Sabbath, I saw a fabulous group of children sing their hearts out. It reminded me of a past life, now- many life times ago. This morning I read the testimony of a friend who is battling cancer. He is so ill so tired and wants to stop the pain. The children and the friend are angels!

They remind us to live fully. And the BEST way to LIVE is to heal others. We make a cycle of love and light and it flows out and ripples back to us.
Let us all be angels for one another.
Today let us all heal one another.

Thank you Eric (waving) for suggesting church and then giving me a ride.  It was a fabulous day at church. I was home. I felt loved by your friends- I felt welcomed back into the flock. (grin)

We all soar- we all have wings- we are all angels.

Imagine your energy- the tingling running down your legs now- “see” it as a glowing light, let us all joining hands and let that light weave into a huge nest. All of us are in that nest- we all ALL one- as we become the nest of pulsing wonderful healing light- It soothes the aching muscles and cures the ailments.

Let us weave this magic and be the nest of love and support for one another.
(Jens Walter) I am waving- and look forward to the day you are strong- and we will laugh and think back to when this day was many life times ago.

Thank you for your brutal honest truth. For having the courage to write your journey so we all can LIVE!! Let us take the bull by the horns and life live with every fiber of our being!!!

Woohooooo!!! Life is incredible. With love we can all heal.

Love-Snow-Sculpture

There are 3 topics I want to write about and for the life of me I can not figure out how to connect them. So- they will be 3 separate thoughts. A package of Love, snow and sculpture.

Package of Love!

I was so fabulously surprised to receive a package from my sister. (waving to Lynn) I opened it. And found a glorious shawl. Soft and artsy and wonderful! I wrapped it around me and looked at the woman looking back.

She looked regale in her shawl.  I didn’t recognize her.

The gifts were items my sister personally knew I would love. The sail boat on the coffee mug is PERFECT. (smiling sigh) Oh how I love candles and lavender!

I cried. I admit I was over come with love for my sweet sister. She is the best. (Helen- call Lynn and tell her I wrote this-waving)

I will wear the shawl and move the next floor up. I am the artist that is  “becoming“.

SNOW.

Friends are posting photos of snow. Trees cradling the white magic in the crooks of their arms. I think about my ex and how we never played in the snow. I wonder why.

I love the way the snow covers hard edges, everything becomes a snow cone. (smiling) In New Orleans you can get the best snow cones EVER!

Sculpture

Yesterday, I sculpted the female torso. In one day we took the nothing shape of mud and created a female form. It was heaven. The Maestro- Lawrence Noble (waving) insisted we use only the wonder tool and a wood paddle.  I was nervous but determined. In the end, I pulled it off. It was a glorious form- she had perfectly shaped breast, great muscles in her back and fabulous melon buttocks. (smiling) A great day for creating.

Last night I dreamed about the "wonder tool" (laughing) I guess my sub subconscious is embracing using tools over hands.

Thank you all for you love and support.

And Lynn- YOU amaze me! (pulling you into my arms for a huge 60 second hug) Thank you Dear. You really made my Christmas special!!

Anita!!!

Today is a special little Reiki priestess’s birthday. I sing happy birthday to you. Lighting candles and cheering you on. You are an amazing woman, Anita.

You are beautiful!!
You have this incredible fortitude. You stand straight, you have a presence of dignity, you are quietly taking in ALL that surrounds you and you have a twinkle in your eye. You wait until every body is gone to show me your truest self. As not every one is privy to how passionate and wild you are.

I am blessed to be the one you let your walls down for.  (grinning)

You have taught me so much about love and  living. About how to quiet the static of noise, to go under water to listen to the higher voice. I would not be where I am today- without you constant love and support! You keep your hand upon my lower back- supporting and loving me, pushing me forward.

I will never ever forget the conversation we had when you said:
“You have the ability to slow you river.”
It transformed me! You transformed me! In that moment, I knew I was dealing with a magical weaver of light, a woman that knows how to make her life what she wants- when she wants!

Life has been insane! I feel like we have lived 20 lives- in the time we met. I admit, we got caught up in the rapids of life. The rapids are slowing, we are now able to relax. We are now at a place where we can float, heal, and rest in these magnificent waters of love.

I publicly declare my love for you Anita. I can not imagine living with out you. Thank you my little magical mystical woman of wonderful love and light. I look forward to growing very strong with you as we skip along the path- like Neil Armstrong did- as he landed upon the moon.

Our life will BE that free! Woooohoooo!!!

Happy Birthday My Sweet Beloved Anita!!

There is soooo much life to live- beside you!!! (pulling you into my arms for a HUGE swaying- swirling hug!) God knows- I love you!

Love Glass!

Yesterday was a tremendous day for me! I moved the next floor up in my enlightened transcending art being born journey!! Wooohoooo!! I love glass!!!

I fired glass and clay successfully- with out a safety net- so to speak. Usually I use a special coated paper underneath my art. I couldn’t use it.

As I was loading the kiln- the professor asked me if the paper would smoke. I wasn’t sure, because when I fired it in my studio- I really never hung about. The fear that it might smoke- and might set off the fire alarms and sprinklers, was enough to keep me from using the paper.

So, I gulped it down, only put a few pieces in the kiln and laid sand underneath the pieces- as a protection. I was not sure how the firing of the glass would go. I had one chance to get this right- and this was it.

I had read every note I had made concerning my glass firings. And I felt pretty comfortable that the temperature was correct. I was pretty sure the sand would protect the shelves. I was pretty sure everything would be fine.

However, there was that 1 percent of uncertainty that can drive a man to drink! Ugh! I was nervous and anxious. I left a note upon the kiln- to not open until Sunday. The glass needs to s-l-o-w-l-y cool down. I stayed away from the school Sat. to let the glass anneal. Then rushed over on Sunday to see what the kiln Goddess had birthed.

Wooohoooooo!!! It was perfect!!

I danced around the kiln room- spinning in circles of delight! Pumping my fist in the air!! All those firings in my studio – all those notes- all that time spent combining glass and clay- PAID OFF!!!

The photo you see here- is my “Imagine Dragon” piece. There is a music group called “Imagine Dragons” perhaps one of you know the musicians- and they might want to purchase this art! (laughing)

The clear glass just started melting through the spine…the underbelly is filled with colorful lava melted glass.

I am thrilled!! The Kiln Goddess was sweet to me- I am pretty sure- she loves me! (grinning)
