Chicken

Academy of the Arts University-Sculpture.
 San Francisco- Cannery
I practically live here! This is where I go to school! It is the classiest SCHOOL ever! The Academy of the Arts Sculpture department resides here! Sooo get a college loan-and join me here! (smiling) You will find me upon the second floor usually, the room has big glass windows so you can stand and watch us sculpt! It really is an incredible experience, to be in a room concentrating on art and out of your peripheral vision see a small crowd of people just as mesmerized with your art as you are! (smiling)

Last night I work on my anatomy sculpture for 5 hours. The professor, Debra had a spine of a chicken and a wish bone, which is the collar bone. I am falling in love with the magnificence of the body! I do love the collar bone area!! It is the perfect place to kiss. (grin)

The spine is an incredible work of art. If you are a yogi and can bend your self into a pretzel shape- then you understand how flexible the body is. The spaces between each spinal disc is very small behind the rib cage, while in the neck and stomach area- the spaces are much larger.

The chicken bone spine photo reveals how complicated the bone structure is. One bone forms a cup sort of shape in which the other bones rest upon. The spinal column is segments, like fish scales and align them selves perfectly. Woohoooo! I am so excited about the body and how it works and how it fits together like a perfect puzzle!!

I was sculpting with 3 other students one from Russia, Italy, and China. We were intent upon our task of learning the muscles and properly sculpting them. I turned to one student and said- “Just think, when you are 53 you will have been sculpting for 20 plus years- you will be great at this

I am making up for lost time. I put off chasing after my true love of fine art until I knew I was not living my BEST life!!!

Life is EXCITING now! Every single day I SOAR in my passion!! I want to skip and dance around and act like a silly billy!  Don’t wait! Be honest with yourself!
If you love to sing- join a choir!
If you love acting and want to learn your craft- join a theater group!

Don’t be a chicken (grin) and sit upon the side lines. Stand tall- be proud- elongate that spine and LIVE!!! Woohooo!!!

Art reflects life, life reflects art.

God knows I am a happy puppy! (I ain't no chicken!) Laughing!!!

LOVE!

I believe the mind can heal the body. I believe if we focus on the body, embrace it, treat it with respect, nourish it properly and give the mind an idea of what we want for it, the body will comply.

I know, sounds kind of far fetched. Yes. I can see you saying:”Huh?” Give me a second and I will enlighten you.

After class I stayed at school to perfect my anatomy sculpture. Art reflects life- life reflects art. As I perfect my art work, I am perfecting myself. As I am shaping the muscle correctly I am thinking about the health of my muscle- the strength of it.

Erin (waving) and I were working on the spine last night.  As I stood straight I elongated my posture. As I sculpted each tiny disc I thought about them being filled with light, whole and complete. I gave attention to the body part I was turning into art. Where we focus our attention, or our energy we are able to improve.

I am smiling at your reaction.

When you meditate you can lower your blood pressure- Yes? So. Can it not also be true that you can heal yourself? When giving it daily positive attention?

Think about it. (grinning) Be filled with light today! All positive light! SHINE!

Oh- do me a favor- tell yourself you are going to live to be 100 years old! And you WILL! You will be healthy and have a strong back- because you are thinking about it now. You are letting your muscles and bones know you intend to be around for a wile. (smiling) Your body WILL comply!

I love you all!! Keep smiling! Sing- hum…oh I do love humming! (Waving at Anita!) Keep doing YOUR passion!!

Baldwin

This man creates incredible art!!!

I had one of the most respected European sculptors as my instructor yesterday. He has traveled all over the world and carved and created art for a Queen. He is a most interesting and intriguing man.

As usual I arrive early. I help set up the room for the day. I like having my place by the window, the energy from nature makes my day nicer, if one does not get to class early- one is not assured a spot. I like knowing where I will be.

He and I are the only people in the class. I am amazed he remembered my name, Jp. I sometimes work on my art in another room where he teaches. He is always so kind and caring and FUNNY! You can’t help but grin when you think of him! He places his glasses upon his forehead in a peculiar way. I feel like I am being studied, he looks at my face and I can feel his laser eyes scanning my face. It is interesting to be looked at so intently. I am training my eyes to “see” like that. I do it now, I see the high cheek bones, the shape of the eye, the curve of the lips. It is a “knowing” that comes with creating art.

I ask him about stone carving. He tells me granite is carved with fire and a hammer. This excites me! Fire softens granite. WHO KNEW? Then the hammer is used to shape the art. Wow huh?

I am going to order his book, mainly coz he is my instructor. I look forward to carving in stone- creating incredible pieces of art.

I admit his attitude is serious. He chastised a late graduate student, reminding him that we set the standards for all the other students. His energy is forceful, working with stone and granite his whole life he has learned to become stronger with his craft. I respect his strength. It is palatable in the way he stands- his straight back. He works FAST.
As he critiqued our work, he walked around the room with a hammer. Some students work- he cut apart and readjusted. He would say: “Where is my hammer?” And we laughed, because we knew that person’s work was going to be fixed.

It was a glorious day. To learn with a GREAT ARTIST!

Wooohoooo!! Wow!! I am soo fortunate! I am so grateful for this experience!
Have a great day Sweet facebookians!! Soar!!! Unfurl those wings!!! Take off!!

Dance!! Shake those hips!!

Fear

I am participating in Oprah and Deepak’s 21 day meditation. Day 7 is “I am free.” After the meditation we reflect in a journal, one question is: “What is your greatest fear?”

I want you to ask yourself that question. Let the truth rise to the surface. I imagine the fear will be connected with Love. Finding a perfect love, being loved enough or being hungry for a love and wanting it to be reciprocated.

A friend, Cynthia (waving) mentioned that I might want to love myself and get to a point where I am happy being alone.

Another friend, Star (waving) used the acronym : FLY. First Love Yourself! When you can do that- then you can truly love others.  Honestly, I am not at that point.  I spend most of my days at the college- so I do not have to come home to these four walls.

I think I run my sweet Beloved Anita ragged, as I am always  wanting someone to talk to- and I must ask her 10 times a day: “Are you avail?” I do not like that I am so needy.

Yesterday I posted nine things about myself, on my facebook page…and when I was through I really had a idea of whom I have become. We probably all have been hurt in a Love relationship.
LIFE is one big practice-practice- practice…. We don't always get it right the first or second time...however, persistence is omnipotent! (grin)

Don’t fear finding the perfect Love. You will. And you will learn from it- and you might realize it wasn’t so perfect after all. Keep loving, keep changing, keep shifting and trying! We get to do it all over tomorrow- Practice LOVING often!!

Practice, practice, and practice some more!!!

BE FREE! Soar in the greatness of your love!

I love you all!!! (grinning)
