Margaret's birthday

Today is a perfect day- it is my daughter’s birthday!!!!
I will direct this write directly to her.

“ The moon does not fight.
It attacks no one.
It does not worry.
It does not try to crush others.
It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences.
What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore?
The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished.”

Everyday Tao: Living with Balance and Harmony

I wish I had written the quote above as a gift to give you. However, it is my wish for you, Margaret that you have the beach house one day, and that we celebrate birthdays with champagne upon your porch and gaze out upon the silvery smooth waters.

I can see your lovely friends singing the birthday song, with candles lit and much laughter as you lean in toward the ice cream cake. I ask you to hold your face close to the candles…as I have always taken your photograph lit only by the flame of the candles.
You look at me- with that one incredible eye-brow raised…I snap the photo and then you wink and blow out all the candles. The smoke rises exquisitely toward heaven and we all say: “Please God may the smoke tickle your feet- so that my wishes may come true.”

On the day you were born an earthquake happened. I believe God did not want his favorite angel to come to earth. (grinning) We lived in CA when you were born, the only reason I remember is because my sister Lynn called and asked if we were okay. She had seen the destruction from the earth quake upon the news.

This is when we break into the Carol King chorus: “I felt the earth move under my feet….”
(grinning and pulling you into a huge hug)

Happy Birthday Beautiful Margaret!!! You will grow to be a very strong woman- you will easily make it to the 100 year mark..and beyond. You will have all that you desire!

You are exquisite!
